In the last 50 years, plastics has become a favorite industry for packaging materials their ease of manufacture and excellent performance. The advancement food, electronics, automobile, medical agricultural industries increased demand casing made large hydrocarbon polymers. Since show resistance to biodegradation, they pose considerable threats environment. Degradable biopolymers offer promising solutions this problem. can be easily absorbed in environment while exhibiting properties conventional plastics. There are three types according source: biomass extracted polymers, synthesized from microorganisms produced bio-derived monomers. Biodegradable commonly used one-off such as crockery, food service containers cutlery. Although biodegradable replace lot applications, performance cost sometimes problematic. This chapter analyses growth degradable plastic explores potential applications.
